Gender-based violence continues to be one of the most underreported crimes in Canada. Shame, fear of revenge, criminalization, normalization of unwanted sexual behaviour, and not knowing where to turn or whom to trust are among the reasons people don’t report. Now entering its 3rd year, the Spirit of Schlifer Campaign invites Canadians to raise critical funds for the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, Canada’s only fully integrated clinic to offer the essential counselling and legal and interpretation services to survivors of gender-based violence. When we unite, as friends, family, colleagues, partners and as a community, to support a collective end to gender-based violence, we can effect real change. Join us today and become a Believer. The Spirit of Schlifer Campaign was created as an online fundraising campaign when it became clear in 2019 that the global health pandemic, COVID-19, would impact in-person events. In the past two years, the Campaign has raised a total of $282,680. These funds are vital to the overall operations of the Clinic, but particularly to the provision of our essential services. Our goal this year is to raise more than $200,000. With your help, We Believe we can reach our goal. We Believe in our partners and cherish the support they give.
